I know a lady who has been married for over ten years now , and her husband does not know that his wife's presumed teenage younger sister , who is in fact living with them, is actually his wife's biological daughter.

They have a very happy marriage, and I couldn't even get myself to judge her .

I have come to realize that an average Nigerian man likes to be lied to, don't appreciate honesty,openness, authenticity and genuineness.

And since the society has made Nigerian women believe that they are useless without a man; our sisters on their own part has somehow devised a means to meet up to this societal expectations. Anything to get hitched right ?

Let's honestly put this my argument into perspective; an average man will take a woman to let's say a shop , and will reassuringly ask her to pick whatever she likes.

Babe on her own clean heart part , will select let's say a 100k handbag, which is what she likes , which is what the instruction says , pick whatever you like.

In the case where this said bag is above this dude's budget; an honest reaction will be ,oh that's a beautiful bag , I must confess you have a good taste but I can't afford , can you please take something less expensive right ?

But No ! Dude might call his friends by the side to borrow quick money from them , might max his credit card , or clear his entire account just to buy that bag at that moment and pretend like everything is ok . Only for the girl not to ever hear from him again after that day .

He will so much resent her ; he will call her names like materialistic, greedy high taste , no home training and their favourite line ,she is not a wife material. Forgetting that he was the one asked her to pick what she likes which is an open statement. And he also had the option of not paying for it for goodness sake!

Based on this repeated knowledge and experience, an average naija babe will ask for a pure water on a date instead of Fanta ; just to pretend and portray that she is a good girl.

Tell an average man today that you have any type of health issue ; for instance their favourite fibroid ; and that is how your relationship with him will just end. So many naija babes these days hide any health issue in their relationships , some of them even go behind their partners backs to get their fibroids removed.

Babes have entered what I call survival mode . Like I earlier said , I don't know how this lady sleeps and wakes up everyday with this huge secret on her shoulders but I can't even gather enough strength on my own part knowing the people we are dealing with to judge her.

An average Nigerian man likes to be lied to. Most of them are not mature, confident and exposed enough to handle the truth .
