St Bottle Cathedral: Beer and your Bellie..

Image
When I take a quick look around me, I notice that so many people are already developing pot bellies, at a young age. Both men and women. Most of them are not even 30 yet. That’s different from the many older people I know that have pot bellies. I think my belly is still very much acceptable, but if I am not careful it could move from a plate belly to a pot belly in no time. A lot of people are very ignorant about this matter. So I did some research to help us find the causes and solutions. This article is majorly abut the cause and a few solutions: Please note that pot belly and beer belly mean the same thing and could be used interchangeably. Read and learn. The Truth About Beer and Your Belly What really causes that potbelly, and how can you get rid of it? By Kathleen M. Zelman, MPH, RD, LD Have years of too many beers morphed your six-pack abs into a keg? If you have a “pot belly,” you are not alone. It seems beer drinkers across the globe have a tendency to gro...

Food that Help Reduce Belle Fat.

Image
In one of my previous articles in which I talked about the relationship between beer and pot belly, I promised to write an article listing foods that can help to reduce belly fat. I am here to fulfil that promise now. There are many reasons why you accumulate fats in the belly and I am going to discuss some while mentioning others in the process too. You are definitely not being kind to your body if you can’t go a day without downing a bottle of carbonated drink. All these sugars ultimately get converted into fat in your body and depending on your sex, age and rate of metabolic activities, the fats might end up being stored in your tummy. Eating late at night is also a bad habit that contributes to belly fat. Our body naturally breaks down the food we eat but this rate reduces when we go straight to bed after eating. We do not expend the energy we have, so the body does not try to break down the food to supply more energy. The best practice is to eat not later than 6pm in the ev...

The Numerous Health Benefits of Ewedu Leaf.

Image
This us a sponsored post Ewedu – The Super Vegetable: How could I have ever thought that I will enjoy Ewedu vegetable now? I had constantly condemned it as I never encouraged its consumption in my family. By the second day of my Mother’s in law visitation I knew I had no option than to cook it for her since she is a complete Oyo woman who cannot do without Amala and Ewedu. Shortly after I took the bold step to learn the process of making the soup from a Yoruba friend, I found it was completely simple to prepare. Joining my mother in law in taking a bite on the meal, I was completely surprised by how delicious it was when combined with Amala. These were the words of a 36 years old Delta woman married to an Egba man. The jute leaf which is commonly called Ewedu among the Yoruba people have been part of the south westerner’s diet for so many decades. A few people who do not enjoy it describe it as a weed, while others cannot completely describe how delicious and medicin...

Fried Food and the Unknown Danger of Re-using Oil.

Image
Hello friends, it is really my delight to write on this topic as I have had loads of families, friends and clients call me to find out what the real truth is about fried foods. There had been contradicting views from different professionals in the field of nutrition and body health on the benefits and dangers of consuming fried meals. While an ample of information is readily available for you to digest on the internet, a few of them are people and region specific which might be completely wrong for you to apply. Are there healthy fats, which ones are dangerous? Fats in the past few years had been labelled as a complete terror which have cause many illnesses and diseases. While these claims are true in a sense, it is clear without doubt that healthy fats exist and should be included in your diets. Omega 3 and Omega 6 fats found in fish, fish oils and some plant based foods need to be included in your diet at recommended daily intake. Usually at least 20 percent of your daily meals sho...
