According to some former classmates of Orlando terrorist, Omar Mateen, he terrorized his Florida grade school - Mariposa Elementary by bullying students and threatening to go on a shooting spree in school. He constantly bullied others and once told a group of kids at their school he was going to bring a gun to school and kill everyone. When it became clear that he didn't sound like he was joking, they immediately told a teacher, and Mateen was suspended for 2 weeks.  According to his classmates who have granted interviews after the club massacre, his behavior issues continued into middle school and he also threw chairs and spat at teachers. He even bragged to his High School classmates on 9/11 about being related to Osama bin Laden. His former classmates insist the warning signs were there at an early age and wish more had been done in terms of discipline or counseling. 

After spending nine months planning a surprise visit, a soldier made a quick return home from service to surprise his daughter in time for her high school graduation. Master Sgt. Derrick Morris was not due back from serving in Kuwait until September and he told his daughter, Camille Morris, he would not get to see her graduate.  Derrick however had another plan in mind. He arranged with the principle of his daughter's school, Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, to be able to surprise his little girl and keep it a secret.  When the day came, the sergeant made a huge entrance in front of the entire school and completely shocked her.  Camille burst into tears at the sight of her father and rushed to hug him. The Nigerian Air Force has debunked reports of impending retirement of some officers. The statement issued today June 14, reads:  "The attention of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has been drawn to the publication on pages 1-2 of New Telegraph newspaper of Monday 13 June 2016 titled “Arm Scandal: Air Force to retire AVMs, Commodores”.  The publication alleged that the NAF is at the verge of retiring a number of senior officers connected with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration. It is pertinent to state that this story is unfounded and did not emanate from the NAF. The Press is therefore please advised to always confirm their story with the NAF before publication"

Read the press statement below...  Following the unfortunate death of a Police officer, ASP Mathew Akpos, allegedly killed by operatives of the State Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, earlier this month, and ensuing protests by aggrieved citizens, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E Arase, fdc, NPM, has called for calm as the Police authorities has waded into the matter to ensure that justice is served.  Upon the receipt of the information, the IGP immediately directed that the matter be investigated to ensure justice is served. Meanwhile, all the Policemen linked with the killing of the officer have been arrested, detained and are presently undergoing investigation, for subsequent prosecution. The IGP called on the family and friends of the deceased officer to remain calm and patient as the Police authority will not relent in their efforts to ensure professionalism in carrying out their constitutional assignment. 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a 17 count charge against a former Aviation Minister and spokesman for the PDP Presidential campaign in the 2015 general election, Femi Fani-Kayode over an alleged N1.5 billion fraud. Also included in the charge sheet are former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, a company named Joint Trust Dimensions Limited, one Danjuman Yusuf and another Olubode Oke, who is reportedly on the run.  The case is yet to be assigned to a judge and so a date for the hearing has not been fixed. While Fani-Kayode was named in all 17 counts, the former Finance Minister, Nenadi Usman was named in only four of the charges.  Part of the charges against them reads  "Usman, Fani-Kayode, Yusuf And Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Limited on or about January 8, 2015, within the jurisdiction of the Court conspired to indirectly retain the sum of 1.5 Billion Naira, a sum the EFCC said they reasonably ought to have known formed part of...

The management of the African Independent Television have reportedly sacked all its staff at its zonal office in Benin city, Edo state today June 14th. According to The Nation, the management of the media company which is owned by Raymond Dokpesi, relieved the workers of their duty in a letter dated June 2nd and signed by the company's Senior Manager in charge of Human Resources, Victor Okasoga. The affected workers are being owed arrears of salaries of up to two years. Their dismissal according to the letter is with immediate effect.  "Those whose affected to handover all company properties in your possession especially your identity cards to the Head of Center. Ex-wife and former classmates of gunman who shot dead 50 people at Orlando gay nightclub say that he was gay himself. The 29-year-old’s ex-wife, Sitora Yusufiy, and others who survived the massacre have said Mateen had visited the nightclub on several occasions. Ms Yusufiy told a Brazilian TV station Mateen had "gay tendencies" and said his own father had called him gay in front of her. A regular Pulse goer also claimed Mateen had been messaging him sporadically on a gay dating app for about a year. At the Federal government town-hall event meeting in Akwa Ibom state yesterday June 13th, Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and the Minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, disagreed over the development of the Maritime University in Okerenkeko, Delta State.  According to investigations by the EFCC, the land for the proposed University, valued at N13 billion and was sold by ex militant leader, Tompolo to the federal government.  At the meeting, Amaechi told the gathering that he is not opposed to developing the Maritime University but that N13 billion used for the purchase of the land for the university must be retrieved.  "I am not against the University. One of Vice President Yemi Osibanjo's daughters recently graduated with a master's degree from a private, Ivy League research university - Dartmouth College, in the US. A man high on an inhaled solvent has been arrested for stabbing and beheading his blind mother and a male neighbour in Si Wilai district, Bangkok.    According to Police Captain Seksan Nahom, a deputy investigation chief at Si Wilai police station, the gruesome murders occurred at Nong Chan village of this northeastern province.  Po lice received a report of the crime about2.30pm on Monday. On arrival at the scene they found the headless body of a man, identified later as Samruay Yodsaeng, 59, lying beside a bamboo tree with a deep stab wound in the back.  The alleged killer, Khet Pimthaphor, 42, had locked himself inside his one-storey house with his mother Suk Pimthaphor, 72, who was crying for help, Thai media reported. Police investigating the murder of a man in Northolt five years ago have made two further arrests. Adeniyi Lateef Shode, also know as "Aden", died on May 2 2011, after being stabbed but four people who were arrested were released without charge. Since then no one has ever been charged in relation to the murder of the victim, from Edgware. On Wednesday, 8 June, a 25-year-old man [G] surrendered to a north London police station and was arrested for conspiracy to murder. A 22-year-old woman [B] was further arrested for conspiracy to murder at an address in Watford. Fresh footage of Germany coach Joachim Low putting his hands in his trousers, touching his pubic area and perceiving it has surfaced online. Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has slammed Nigeria Employers Consultative Assembly, NECA, for backing the banking and telecommunications sectors for sacking their workers. Ngige described the position of NECA, an umbrella body for employers in the private sector, as irresponsible and unpatriotic. Kudirat the woman behind this ordeal has been arrested for allegedly torturing her stepdaughter, Rachael, inflicting injuries on her. Kudirat, a hairdresser, allegedly tortured the five-year-old for bed-wetting and disobedience. According to the report, Rachael’s mother died five years ago when she was three months old. She was said to have been under the care of the suspect, whom her father married a few years after. A concerned neighbour at their residence in Okeore, Atan Ota, in the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of the Ogun state, weekend, was said to have reported the incident at the Onipanu Police Division which led to Kudirat’s arrest. Very sad news this morning! Talented singer, songwriter and producer Babatunde Okungbowa popularly known as OJB Jezreel has died. The music maestro, who was flown for a Kidney transplant in India in 2013 and was said to be doing well, had a relapse about two weeks ago and was kept on daily dialysis before his urgent need for oxygen yesterday. Unfortunately, he didn't make it. He died early this morning June 14th at Isolo General Hospital in Lagos.  He is survived by 3 wives, Mabel, June, Korede and many children. May his soul rest in Peace. Amen  .

An 'Islamic State' killer who has been named as known homegrown jihadist Larossi Abballa, 25, stabbed a police officer and his wife to death in their Paris home.  The Police said Jean-Baptiste Salvaing, 42, was stabbed nine times in the stomach in the 'terror attack' at his suburban house in the Yvelines department, north of Paris, shortly after 8.30pm. Video circulating online shows a man biting the head off live frog and devouring its intestines. The video believed to have been taken somewhere in the far east shows the man standing in the middle of a fish market when he picks up the huge amphibian and immediately shoves its head in his mouth.  After ripping off the head, the man then proceeds to eat the frog's entrails as horrified onlookers express their disgust. Despite the reactions of those around him, he appeared to be enjoying his stomach-churning meal and even smiled for the camera.
