President Obama formally endorsed Hillary Clinton for president today. The endorsement came right after he met with her primary rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, at the White House. In a video released by Clinton's team, Obama said,  “I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office. She’s got the courage, the compassion and the heart to get the job done.” This didn't go well with Donald Trump and he took to Twitter to slam them both. Hilary Clinton of course clapped back. "A former football star who was exonerated after being falsely accused of rape cited 'privilege' in the Stanford rape case.  Brian Banks, 30, spent a little over five years in prison after he plead no contest to a crime that he insisted he didn't commit at the age of 16. Banks told 60 Minutes in a 2013 interview, that his lawyer feared he wouldn't get a fair trial, based on his age, size and race. His plea of no contest allowed him to avoid a possible 41 years in jail but he was agreeing to a deal that would give him from 18 months to five years in prison, according to CBS News. He was exonerated after his accuser was secretly recorded admitting that she made the whole thing up.  But in the case of Brock Allen Turner, 20, who raped an unconscious 23-year-old woman at a frat party, a judge gave him only six months. Catfish may soon be out of the reach of the average Nigerian as the hike in prices of feeds has forced some fish farmers out of business, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. Some farmers who spoke to NAN on Wednesday in Lagos described the development as worrisome, calling on government to ensure price stability in the industry. NAN reports that Skretting Feeds had in the first week of June increased the price of a bag of its 2mm feed from about N5, 000 to N8, 000. A farmer, Mr Emmanuel Ogharegbe, said that many of his colleagues had since abandoned the business, due to arbitrary hike in the prices of feeds. Ogharegbe said the price hike did not translate to an increase in the price of fish as fish traders operated a cartel that could frustrate any increase in per kilo price of fish. Some family members of former Super Eagles Coach, Steven Keshi who died early this morning have exclusively disclosed to TheCable on Wednesday morning hours after he passed on that: “Since the death of his wife, Kate, in December 2015, his life had changed dramatically, Keshi, 54, had become hypertensive but was managing it very well… always taking his medications and checking his blood pressure very regularly”. Another family member said that since Keshi lost his wife, he had become so lonely that he was practically soliciting phone calls from friends. “After the burial of his wife, people practically left him to himself. The calls and visits became fewer, and he felt the pain the more. They were married for 35 years and he watched the love of his life battle bravely with cancer for three years. President Buhari has approved the appointment of his Special Adviser on Planning, Mr Ben Akabueze as the new Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation. Mr. Akabueze takes over from Mr Tijani Mohammed Abdullahi who will now serve as Special Adviser to the President on Planning and will continue to work with the Minister of Budget and National Planning. Akabueze was one-time Lagos state commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget. Akabueze and Abdullahi joined the Ministry of Budget and National Planning in February this year.

According to Mail Online on Sunday questioned President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption credentials ahead of his arrival in London for a world anti-corruption summit to be hosted by UK’s Prime Minister, David Cameron. The heavy downpour of this morning resulted in the flooding of major roads in the Lekki and Victoria Island axis of Lagos. A tree at Ajose Adeogun in Victoria Island was uprooted by the wind. Some motorist are even bailing out water from their cars. Traffic is already building as a result of the flood in most of the roads.

Striking Ondo state workers today blocked the state governor, Olusegun Mimiko from entering the state government house. The workers who are protesting 5 months unpaid salaries, filed in front of the main gate of the government house, chanting songs of solidarity. Governor Mimiko had to come down from his car to appeal to the workers to suspend their strike.   According to the governor, the state is not financially buoyant to pay up arrears. The workers vowed to continue their strike until their salaries are paid.
