Amaechi Vs lbe Kachikwu- Reno omokri.

Image
By now, you probably have watched the viral video of the town hall meeting organized by the ministry of masquerade dressing (otherwise known as ministry of information) in Uyo the Akwa Ibom state capital.  At that event, the mild mannered minister of state for petroleum resources, Ibe Kachikwu, proved that you should not judge a book by its cover as he publicly took on the minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi and gave him an answer that could not be responded to.  Amaechi, in response to a question on why he appears to want to consign the maritime university Okerenkoko to history, responded thus:  "I am not against the University. I hope you people appreciate that. My argument about Okerenkoko is that the land alone is N13 billion. If you give me N13 billion I will buy half of Lagos. That N13 billion has built the university already so there is no need to spend more money. Let EFCC retrieve the money from them and then release them and we would build the Univer...

OAP Freeze Agree with Olori Waruola on gender Equality speech.

OAP Freeze gave his take on the speech given by Olori Wuraola on Gender equality. He wrote:  The Olori of Ife, Her Majesty, Queen Wuraola-Zynab Ogunwusi, spoke what I consider words of absolute wisdom, when she stated her belief that gender equality is hardly achievable in the modern world. While speaking at the Emerging Women Forum on Thursday, June 16, the queen said; I am not a huge fan of gender equality. We can’t be equal, We can’t be men. We have our roles to play. She can't be more correct and my respect for her has risen 100 fold, hence the proud smile on my face in this picture with her royal highness.  Although feminism in itself is a noble cause, and by definition is "a range of political and social movements and ideologies, that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve equal political, economic, personal, and social rights for women, the way many of my Nigerian sisters are going about achieving this is becoming counter productive. Altho...

IG Users react to Olori Waruola Speech on Gender Equality.

After Olori Wuraola's take on the Gender equality bill, she got some backlash and support from different people. Below is what Diary of a Naija girl thinks about it: Read her full post below:  Dear Olori, The reason you can hold a microphone and speak in public rather than at the backyard of the palace cooking jollof rice while your husband travels the world, is because of women like you who fought for us to live life and enjoy it equally like anyone else . Please see below a summary of what the fight for gender equality is about: .. **If I work for 3 hours and a man works for 3 hours, we both deserve to get paid the same **A woman can now decide that, Marriage shall mean Partnership, Friendship, companionship as well as Passion; not slavery **I am not better, wiser, stronger, more intelligent, or more responsible than a man. Likewise, I am never less **If a man’s virginity cannot be tested on the wedding night, mine shouldn’t be tested as we...

17 years Old boy stab to Death by Homeless Man.

Image
A 17 year old Bronx teenager, Carl Ducasse, was stabbed to death by a homeless man after giving $2 to another homeless man, because the money was too small, the victim’s mom said Saturday.  The teenager who was set to graduate high school this month, was knifed multiple times in his chest late on Friday, police said.   The teen’s mother, Angela Ducasse, while weeping said:  “The homeless guy wanted more.” “He died because of $2. I can’t believe he’s gone.” “He was never a kid of the streets,” said Angela Ducasse. “He was a regular teenager. He was never arrested. He said he wanted to be a lawyer. We already bought his graduation clothes.” She said after giving the $2, Carl bent down to pick up his dropped phone, that was when the killer struck. The suspect also stole the teen's phone after he collapsed on the sidewalk.  Police confirmed D...

River Turn to dry Land at Kara Market.

Image
A part of the popular Ogun River which flows under the Kara Bridge around Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State suddenly and shockingly turned dry today June 18th. The Kara cattle market community under the bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway has become a Mecca of some sort as people besieged the community to see the dried section of the river which once provided water for the Kara cattle and ram market.  Residents of the area say they woke up this morning to see the river which served as one of their means of transportation where canoes were used to reach the dense waters, totally dry and it wasn't like that the day before. The surface of the water had become firm and people can now stand on the portion of the river. What do you guys think happened? More photos after the cut...
