Pres Buhari has employed the services of 13 Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and 10 other counsels to appeal the ruling of Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja on May 26th this year, dismissing his preliminary objection to a suit filed by an Abuja-based legal practitioner, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe against him challenging the authenticity of his WAEC result.  Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe had dragged President Buhari before the court, arguing that he did not meet the educational requirement to contest for President of Nigeria. A man has been arrested by police in Edo State for allegedly setting his wife ablaze following a disagreement over his refusal to attend her father's funeral.  ‎  According to PM News, the man identified as Onya on Saturday, June 11, poured petrol on his wife, Margaret Onya and set her on fire at their residence located at No. 35, JB street, Ekosodin quarters, off Ugbowo-Lagos Road, Benin City.  Margaret suffered severe burns from the incident is now being treated at a private hospital in Benin City. Speaking from her hospital bed, she said:  "We had a quarrel and my husband told me he would teach me a lesson. After our disagreement, I sat on the chair and my husband went inside, brought petrol and wanted to pour it on me. I held the jar and as we were dragging, I was shouting for help. He overpowered me and poured the contents on me and lit a match. I was saved by one of my neighbours who rushed into our apartment and put out the fire," she stated.  ...

These are the victims of the early Sunday morning Gay night club shooting in Orlando, Florida by Omar Mateen. Mateen, reportedly laughed as he shot into the crowded club before he was shot dead by a SWAT team. He had told a 911 dispatcher he was inspired by ISIS before the massacre began. An 18 year old man, Smith Dorcent, tied up a 17-year-old girl, beat her with a belt and recorded himself attacking her with her own phone before uploading the video to Snapchat. Several people including family members and friends close to the teen, saw the video on Snapchat and called police, according to an arrest report.  Dorcent of Boynton Beach, has since been arrested, jailed and is currently facing charges.  The teenager whose Identity wasn't revealed didn't report the matter to the police because she said she was afraid of Dorcent. But after been interrogated by the police, she admitted that the assault started on  May 16 after Dorcent got angry that she wouldn't give him the password to her phone. He forced her to unlock the phone and then used it to record his attack on her. Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, says the Federal government will be granting states a N90 billion loan which is to be paid back within one year. At a meeting with the finance commissioners of the 36 states to discuss the Fiscal Sustainability Plan FSP in Abuja yesterday June 14th, Adeosun said the loan will be given to the state governments after they meet 22 stringent conditions put together by the federal government. According to her, the loan will be in two tranches  "The loan is in two tranches – N50 billion for three months to be shared across the 36 states including FCT and then N40 billion for nine months. The idea is to tie states over for a year so that they rebalance. The loan is an average of about N1.3 billion per state for the first three months and N1.1billion for the next nine months. It is a loan and it is fully repayable although it has a secured tie against future dividends, revenues and any amount that government might owe the states.”she said ...

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, have condemned the beating death of 74 year old trader, Bridget Patience, by Islamic fanatics at Wambai market in Kano state on Thursday June 2nd and the attempted murder of a carpenter, Francis Emmanuel in Kaduna state by some irate Muslim youths who attacked him for eating while Muslims were fasting on June 7th.  The group made their stand on both issues known after a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Christian Elders’ Forum and the Christian Association of Nigeria, South-East zone, in Enugu state yesterday June 14th. Indian Wildlife officials, on Monday arrested 18 lions and have threatened to give the 'guilty' ones life sentences. According to officials, some of the Lions are guilty of man-eating and the guilty ones will be sentenced to spending the rest of their lives in a zoo while the ones not found guilty will be released into the wild.  "We think we have pinpointed the guilty lion, but we are still awaiting the results of nine more animals,” said JA Khan, a forest official in the country, the BBC reported.  'The lions aren’t talking. Authorities at the zoo are studying the animals’ footprints and fecal matter.'  The officials are studying the animals.
