My heels and I.

My heels why do I love you so much
Why do I pamper you and see everything good
With you ?
I bend my toes and squeeze my ankle
Cracking every tendonitis of my mine
Just to look beautiful

I sway like a palm tree in a windy savannah
Whenever I take a walk on you
I shake like the igbo "jigida" on young virgins
During the new yam festival
Breaking sweat as I try to navigate with you
Without falling
Yet , sometimes I fall
Embarrasing myself

My stilleto , my wedge , why do me so ?
Though not your fault
But I want to look good
I want men to fall for me
I need the compliment of beauty
From strangers
Alas I swim in the gutter
And take the laugh from strangers and friends
My heels and I

I work hard, spend my hard earn money to get
You
I even sleep my way to buy you
Look what you have done to me
Shame and reproach
Punishment and lose
But still I shall keep loving you
Because you bring out the woman in me.
