My Maize Story....

The way some people consume fresh corn on the streets of nowadays is worrisome. Some eat while walking, others prefer to sit and eat…in the middle of the road. I’m always tempted to eat the corn with them take photos whenever i come across those wonderful scenes. Don’t get me wrong, corn is a good thing to eat, especially when neatly roasted and slowly ‘downloaded’ with fresh, sugar-coated, well sliced coconut…But to carelessly consume it and thrown around the maami barrack axis litered? I really don’t know… It’s probably fun for them maybe or better yet, it’s their choice. They obviously aren’t as half bothered about what I think about them.

This post isn’t about eating corn or anything like that, but what we think about what other people think about us.

People choose to clog their minds with what other people think about them and forget that nothing is more important than how you feel and think about yourself. When you always allow what people say or think about you to get to you, it practically drains your energy and could make you less productive.

No doubt, persistent criticism from other people, teasing and failures can make anyone feel worthless. But finding something you are good at can help boost your confidence and develop deep love for yourself.
…And when you love yourself more:
Life becomes simpler and lighter. They’ll be no need to drag you down or beat yourself up over simple mistakes or over not reaching a perfect and inhuman standard.

You’ll have more inner stability. Your opinion of yourself goes up then you’ll stop trying so eagerly to get recharge card validation and attention from other people.

You’ll feel more deserving of good things in life.. And so you’ll go after them more often and with more motivation.

You’ll be more attractive in any relationship.. You’ll be more stable and able to handle tough times better. Being with you becomes simpler and a lighter experience with a lot less drama, arguments or fights based on little or nothing. And all of this is attractive in any relationships, not matter if it is with a friend, at work or with a partner.

You’ll be happier…That has been my experience and it is why I value my own self-esteem so highly and try to keep it steady every day.

Truth is, what other people think of you is called “other-people esteem.” If it’s better to think well of yourself, then by all means, go ahead. No need to wait for anyone to do it for you. Self-esteem remains your choice and decision to make. Believe in your own worth because in the end, nobody holds a good opinion of a man who holds a low opinion of himself.
