WAYS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE MUCH BETTER Sometimes all we need to make our lives much better isn’t really difficult and they could just be simple things. 1. Be there for those you love when they need you. 2. Avoid worrying because it is a waste of time and mental strength. 3. Perseverance is an important trait you need to have if you want to be successful in life. Avoid the temptation of quitting. 4. Believe you can and have faith when you feel fear. 5. Stay silent when you feel like complaining. 6. Holding a grudge is like drinking poison. Forgive when you feel like getting revenge. 7. When you feel like being selfish, serve others instead. 8. How to store Cut Yam..

July 19, 2016

Couple of readers have asked this question, but of course in different ways – “how do I properly store a cut yam?”, “how can I store yam after I cut it without spoiling?”. We are going to talk about this topic today in order to address their questions. Often we buy large tubers of Yam and need to only cook a small portion of it when we need to eat. So, what are you going to do with the remaining tuber? If you leave it that way, it grows mould and gets spoiled or turns brown and hard that you have to peel it off. When the questions came, I though this should not be a problem for anyone because there is a way I saw mum do it while growing up and it worked every time. So, I took some time out and spoke to different people, asking them how they preserve their cut yam tuber. I got a lot of interesting answers and I will address the most shocking one first. Someone told me she just leaves the yam that way and cut off the spoiled part when next she needs ...

Tomorrow will worry About itself.

August 17, 2016

One of my favorite bible verses is Matthew 6:34 (NIV) “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” I love this verse because no matter who you are or what you are going through you just have to nod in agreement. It’s that crystal clear. There is no point in worrying today because there is so much more to come and our worry will only make things worse. I used to be a top notch worrier. I would worry about everything to the point that it would make me physically sick. Here’s the kicker though, the majority, if not everything I worried about were things which I had zero control over. I suppose that’s what worry is all about. Once I grasped the concept of Matthew 6:34 and used it with Psalms 55:22 (NIV), “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken,” I was freed from my shackles of worry. I had ...

When Respect its regarded to be Fear.

May 10, 2018

There are times when fear feels like respect but the long and short of it is that they are not both the same thing. You don't believe me. Well why not ask legendary Chinese General, master of warfare and author of the blueprint of modern warfare, the art of war. Sun Tzu. This is most probably one of my favourite quotes of all time and it has always resonated with me. Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look upon them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death. If, however, you are indulgent, but unable to make your authority felt; kind-hearted, but unable to enforce your commands; and incapable, moreover, of quelling disorder: then your soldiers must be likened to spoilt children; they are useless for any practical purpose. Bestow rewards without regard to rule, issue orders without regard to previous arrangements; and you will be able to handle a whole army as though you had to do with but a single...
